The Al-Kafaàt Foundation is a Lebanese development and non-governmental organization governed by a board of trustees and acknowledged by law as an “Institution of Public Welfare”.

Founded in 1957, the foundation delivers its services today to a daily population of 4,500 beneficiaries in 7 different centers, with a working team of 820 employees.

Al-Kafaàt (Abilities in Arabic) is a founding member of the World Commission on Vocational Rehabilitation (1963), a member of the International Cerebral Palsy Society (1979), a member of Inclusion International (1981), a recipient of The Rehabilitation International Presidential Award (1984), and a three time recipient of the Lebanese Order of Cedars (Knight in 1972, Officer in 1997, and Commander in 2007).
AL KAFAAT UNIVERSITY (AKU) Graduation Ceremony

Under the patronage of the Minister of Education HE Dr. Hassan Diab, AKU celebrated the graduation of 300 new students on September 19, 2011. The ceremony launched the official partnership of AKU with SUNY (State University of New York), in the presence of Dr. Nancy Zimpher,chancellor of SUNY.

The Beirut Symphony Orchestra, led by Maestro Vazilian and Tenor Francis, opened the ceremony, while the President of AKU delivered the University's Insignia to Poet Henri Zohjaib, Economist Nicholas Chammas, and Dr. Zimpher, in recognition of their cultural, developmental, and educational contributions.
ITK (INSTITUT TECHNIQUE AL KAFAAT) et la SEPR (Société d'Enseignement Professionnel du Rhône)

Sous le patronage et en la présence de l'ancien ministre de l'industrie, SE Monsieur Dedenyan, l'ITK a remis les diplômes de fin d'études à ses étudiants et apprentis, le 15 juillet 2011. Au total, 150 apprentis hôteliers et 500 jeunes spécialisés dans les différentes filiales techniques et professionnelles ont pu célébrer cette cérémonie, qui s'est caractérisée par la remise pour la première fois au Liban le diplôme de baccalauréat technique dans les Arts de l'Imprimerie.

Egalement présente à cet évènement, Madame Véronique Furlan, directrice de la Société de l'Enseignement Professionnel du Rhône, partenaire de l'ITK dans la formation professionnelle, et ceci depuis 1996.
Nadim – Un Liban généreux is a book written by Raif Shwayri, the Director General of the Al-Kafaàt Foundation. The book is about two men, Charlie and Mr. Nadim, one Palestinian and another Lebanese who will cross paths in the midst of a tormented Middle-East…. A novel that details the history of the Al-Kafaàt Foundation as experienced by real characters, with the history of Lebanon and the Middle-East in the background.

The Lebanese culinary encyclopedia, internationally awarded by the Gourmand Cointreau Awards (2003), written by Chef Ramzi Choueiri, the renowned Lebanese Chef.
