Al-Kafaàt integrates students with disabilities in its academic school. There, Special Education programs have been developed for hard-of-hearing students. These programs have been tailored to provide simultaneous academic education with lip-reading and sign language, allowing students to learn not only how to communicate among themselves, but also how to communicate in society. Additionally, the academic school delivers special education to children with a slow learning disability. Al-Kafaàt also provides Special Education and pre-vocational programs to children with cerebral palsy, mental challenges and Down syndrome.
Special Education is delivered by a team of Special Educators that have earned qualifications from the University of Al-Kafaàt - specifically, trainees and graduates from the School of Education of the Institute of Education (L'Institut Universitaire de l'Education). Indeed, while pursuing their Bachelor in Special Education, university students undergo training in the Specialized Centers of the Foundation, thus gaining best expertise in the field of Special Education, and preparing the grounds for eventual employment at the Foundation. |
